If you're like me, you're counting down the days to Mad Men's season 5 premier (26 days to go!). And if you're like me, you're easily whipped into a frenzy by beauty product tie-ins. Estée Lauder resurrected one of its 60s-era packaging designs for this tiny collection (read: one cream rouge and one lipstick, both of which come in one shade only):

| I'm guessing rouge didn't cost $40 in the '60s. |
I'm not going to lie: I want this lipstick.
The color swatch suggests that "Cherry" is a fabulous blue-based red, which is great news for chickies with cool complexions like mine.
Who wants to take bets on how long I wait before calling to see whether my local Macy's has this in stock?

Are you already camping outside of Macy's? ;)
ReplyDeleteAlas and alack! Macy's isn't going to carry the collection. Nordstrom *claims* it'll have the goods by the end of March, but the Interwebz are telling me that Bloomingdale's will be the only store to carry it.
ReplyDeleteBut yes, if Macy's had my lipstick, I'd totally be camping out right now. :)
You could just get the lipstick online. Estee Lauder has free shipping on any size order!
ReplyDeleteThanks, RHB! I'm *so* tempted to jump on it. The only things stopping me right now are the price ($25) and the smallness of the tube, which makes a MAC lipstick look ginormous by comparison. Sigh. Then again, how can I call myself a Joan wannabe without red lipstick housed in adorable vintage packaging?!
ReplyDeleteIt is expected that we all wear the cherry lipstick while watching Mad Men upon its glorious return!
